"It feels great to have a stretch of holes like that and hitting good golf shots off the tee or into the hole or making a few good putts out there. It's important in a major championship. You have to take one shot at a time and not get ahead of yourself. I mean shots can get away from you out here if you hit it into the rough, the rough is pretty thick. So you have to make some good pars if you miss the fairway."

SOUNDBITE (English) Lexi Thompson, five-under (On her good form enter the tournament with Solheim Cup next week):

"These are two really big weeks. Very important. Solheim Cup was my number one goal to be on that team, to represent my country. So I'm very happy to be going to Germany next week, but you have to focus on this week at Evian being the last major Championship and this is always a great tournament to come back to. I have great memories here and the fans are amazing so I always look forward to coming here."

"It's the last major so it's pretty exciting. I always want to play well in the majors so I'll just give it my best shot and see where I am tomorrow."
