Reaction after Lee Slattery won the Russian Open by one shot in Moscow on Sunday

"It's funny, the thing that has been letting me down the most is probably been my short game the last few months, so I have worked so hard at that and to chip one in at such an important time it has sort of just meant so much. But it shows that practise pays off eventually - so that was good."

"Yeah I mean it has been incredible. Missing out by one last year it has been tough and I have been having to ask a lot of promoters for invites. It's been a difficult year. I have forgotten what it was like to write letters, but I have written a lot this year. It is just nice to be able to finish the year off like this with a win, knowing that I can play next year now and hopefully get myself going again to where I belong, I feel."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Michael Hoey, Northern Ireland:

"Considering I have really not played my best this week I suppose it is a good finish. Yesterday was poor and I just couldn't focus really. And in the first round I lost my focus on the back nine. So I reckon I have thrown away maybe five shots. So if I take the confidence from that I will be in good shape for the next end of the year."

"I played great the last three or four days. It was after how I started the year playing and the way I played this tournament it gave me a better taste in the mouth you know. I played great and at one point I was leading and finished second at the end. Lee (Slattery) played great and finished great with the chip in at 17. I mean I did my best, I think I played great and he just beat me by one but what can I do. I am just very happy anyway."
