Portugal coach Fernando Santos and veteran defender Ricardo Carvalho look ahead to the upcoming friendly international against France and the Euro 2016 qualification game against Albania in Lisbon on Thursday.

"As a defender I have more concerns with the forwards and we know that all of them (the France front line) have great qualities, they all play for great clubs and they are all dangerous. The truth is that in this kind of match we have to be more focused and give less space to the opponents because of the quality these players have and if we give them space it is more difficult to stop them."

SOUNDBITE (Portuguese) Fernando Santos, Portugal coach:

"I believe it's going to be an excellent show. We will do everything we can to win. France, their coach and players have said the same, that they want in some way to reverse what has happened (to them) in their last matches, I hope they don't do it against Portugal, I hope they do it three days later (against Serbia), but not against Portugal. Obviously if you win, the morale will be at a higher level, but if that doesn't happen, it's not a big deal and surely the team will be prepared to play against Albania."

"We know they are very strong collectively, in some ways with very similar features to our own team. They are great a team that likes to have the ball, tries to organise their game, to attack in an organised and pressing way with players of great quality. We know all this, so the players know the message, they know each other as they've played against each other many times in their own championships. So, we do know that France are a very powerful team."
