Manchester United midfielder Ashley Young said on Wednesday that everyone at Old Trafford is "fully focused" and "pulling in the right direction", despite the uncertainty surrounding goalkeeper David De Gea's position at the club.

"Obviously, David's a professional. He's a professional player, always has been, always will be. I'm not here to speak about it, to add to the speculation. I'd rather not talk about it."

Question: 'What is the spirit like at the moment after the start you've had to the season?'

"Obviously, after the last game (2-1 defeat at Swansea City), you know, a little bit disappointed with the way things turned out, especially going into an international break. You've got to wait ten days to get yourself prepared for the next game. There is disappointment there, but we've made a good start, we go into another massive game (against Liverpool) after the international break and we just look to kick on from there."

"Obviously, I haven't seen too much of him from the French league, but he's a prospect, you know, he's a young boy, he's coming to bring his talent to the squad, add to the squad that we've got here, which is fantastic, and I'm sure he'll come here and do as well as he can."

Question: 'And the squad as a whole, where do you see yourselves in terms of challenging for the title?'

"It's like what we said at the start of the league, at the start of the season. We want to challenge for the title. We want to challenge for cups and the league cup, we want to be challenging for everything that we're in."
