SuggestedLeadIn: Pardew on Chelsea
Script: SOUNDBITE: (English) Alan Pardew, Crystal Palace manager (asked if Chelsea's current form is as good as it was at the end of last season):
"I think it would be fair to say that Chelsea are not quite in the groove (they were) when we played them last time, because obviously they was nearing the title, they were all honed, they was all up to match fitness, and like our team, we're not like that, and nor are Chelsea. We was probably better last year when we went there than we are now. So both teams (are) not quite at the level they were then, and you would expect that, but we'll both grow, hopefully, during the season and perhaps surpass, our levels of last year."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Alan Pardew, Crystal Palace manager (on Chelsea):
"Well, Chelsea.... it's always a difficult game at the (Stamford) Bridge. I go there a lot, so I know them very well. The manager (Jose Mourinho).... gets his team organised in such a way that they can counter-attack you, any given time. You have to be on your guard, and the concentration levels needed to win there are really high, and therefore.... we performed last year almost to our maximum and still got beat. So, it's one of those places you have to go there and play your best game, and hope that you get a result."
