  • France and England were on Friday (21st August) preparing to meet in a Rugby World Cup warm-up match at the Stade de France the following day

Script: SOUNDBITE (English) Mike Catt, English attacking skills coach

    (On midfield selection).

"Luther just be Luther, to be honest with you. I think he had a very good Six Nations, him and JJ (Jonathan Joseph) combined exceptionally well and also he scored some very good tries in that Six Nations too. Hopefully they can rekindle that fire that they had in that competition. So I think everybody understands the centre dilemma no better than Luther. Luther and JJ, put it that way. It's just their opportunity to go and shine."

SOUNDBITE (English) Mike Catt, English attacking skills coach:

(On French team and the match).

"Exceptionally strong French line-up. Obviously the pack of fours did exceptionally well against us last weekend. You know, and go and put a backline of Bastareau and Fofana and Huget, those guys are the back of it, it does seem like their number one team that has been put out tomorrow night. But saying that, it's a great opportunity for our guys too. A lot of guys are chomping at the bit, they've have worked hard for seven-eight weeks to play against the French, obviously but play against a very good French side. So we'll see where we're at at the end of it."

SOUNDBITE (French) Pascal Pape, France captain:

"Unintentionally, there is a little more pressure but as I was saying we have to try and go beyond this and tell ourselves, once again, it's a great pleasure to be wearing this jersey again, to be defending the French colours, especially against England. I want to be able to think, at the end of the match, that I gave everything I had, that I regret nothing. There'll be some pressure but I'm sure it'll bring positivity tomorrow at 9 p.m."

SOUNDBITE (French) Pascal Pape, France captain:

"I think we're all pros and we share the same mindset. We all know that individually there's nothing you can do against the English. The whole group (collective) will have to rise to the occasion and it's all these individualities together that can make us shine."
