"It's fabulous, you know, to hole my third shot on 11, par (hole) five to make eagle and then follow up with five (birdies) in a row from 13. It was a very very good front nine - back nine as it was (Horsey started his round on 10th hole) but my front nine - and then a little disappointing not to make a few more on the back nine but still, 8 under 63 is always a great start."

SOUNDBITE (English): David Horsey, shot opening round of 63:

"It did creep into my head, the magic number (a European Tour record round of 59), going down (hole) four. I wouldn't say it affected me too much, but then I three-putted and made a bit of a mess of five, so after that it was back to strategy and trying to finish strong, and I managed to do that so I'm pleased with how I handled myself in that situation. You don't get many opportunities perhaps to shoot 59, so I think I can be excused for letting it creep in."

SOUNDBITE (English): Oliver Farr, shot opening round of 64:

"I think that after what I did (on the Challenge Tour) it's a slow sort of building it back up. I feel like a better golfer than I was when I won a few years ago, I'm more consistent, so that's a good thing."

SOUNDBITE (English): Soren Kjeldsen, shot opening round of 66 (on becoming the first Danish player to reach 500 appearances on the European Tour):

"I've never been as emotional as that on the course, I thought it was incredible just to feel the warmth and that people wanted me to do well. It was incredible, you can't really describe that. I didn't realise that they were going to do anything like that (he was presented with a cake celebrating his 500th appearance) and they made it the best day I've ever had on a golf course."
