  • IOC president Thomas Bach backs new IAAF president Sebastian Coe to do an 'excellent job' and support the fight against doping.

Script: President of the IOC, Thomas Bach, speaks at a press conference in South Korea and looks forward to working with the newly appointed president of the IAAF, Sebastian Coe.

Top of their agenda is to clean up the image of atheletics in the face of doping allegations.

"So we have a long history together and therefore I am sure that Sebastian Coe will do an excellent job and will there also join the IOC in our zero tolerance policy against doping and our policy to protect the clean athletes - because this is where we are both coming from, in our time as athlete's commission members."

The Olympics 2018 will be the biggest winter games ever, with 102 events taking place.

"We have had so far a very successful visit here in Korea and Pyeongchang and I can say that we see the preparations for the Olympic Winter Games 2018 really being on track. There has great progress been made since my last visit."
