Reaction after PGA second round

  • SuggestedLeadIn: Reaction from early second round finishers at the 97th PGA Championship at Whistling Straits on Friday (14th August).

Script: SOUNDBITE (English): David Lingmerth, Shot a two-under-par 70 (-7 overall)

"I got a good start at the Open, too, a few weeks back at St. Andrews, but very disappointed with how I continued my play that tournament. To get two solid rounds in the first two here this week, it's a good feeling. I need to go to the range and figure out my ball-striking a little bit better for tomorrow. But really happy about how things are going so far."

SOUNDBITE (English): Scott Piercy, Shot a two-under-par 70 (-6 overall), on flying under the radar

"I'm going to do my thing and try to win, obviously. But they're used to it. You guys don't talk about me very often. It's probably a good thing sometimes. But hopefully there's something to talk about at the end of the week."

SOUNDBITE (English): George Coetzee, Shot a seven-under-par 65 (-5 overall)

"I said it yesterday, it felt like everything was just pretty average. Today I think pretty much the driving and the putting went from average to pretty good. Hit some really nice tee shots out there and gave myself good looks at birdies, felt good with my putter in hand."

SOUNDBITE (English): Marcel Siem, Shot a two-under-par 70 (-4 overall)

"In the past I was always chasing things and playing more aggressive to go for everything, and I'll just try to do the same stuff I did the first two days. The bonus would be to catch a fish today. I haven't caught one fish in the last three days, maybe that will turn something around if I catch a fish, maybe I'll get a 3- or 4- under round in. So I just want to stay patient and do what I did the last two days."
