Rory McIlroy was confident over his return from injury saying that "everything feels pretty good", as he looks to defend his PGA Championship title at Whistling Straits
SOUNDBITE: (English) Rory McIlroy, defending champion:
"It's good. I was anticipating feeling a bit rusty and a bit, sort of, out of sorts for the first couple of weeks, but you know I started hitting balls on the 20th of July, so that's that been like a week and a half, two weeks? And it feels good. This is, I've played quite a lot of golf since starting to hit balls and it feels good - I'm finding the middle of the club face. I think the one thing for me was if my short game was sharp, but I mean I've been chipping and putting since basically this happened, you know I was putting in the boot. So it's been, you know, I've kept that part of the game sharp so everything feels pretty good."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Rory McIlroy, defending champion:
"You know, it felt like it was the right time to come (back) - regardless whether it was this week or, you know, no matter what week it was, I was ready to go whether it was this week, whether it was some other tournament, it wasn't like I was trying to get back for this - it just so happened that, you know, I'm feeling good enough to go this week."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Rory McIlroy, defending champion:
"I think it's just, just the competitiveness of feeling what it's like to play a tournament, especially coming back. You know it's ok coming back and playing in Abu Dhabi as your first week back, but coming back and playing a major it's a bit different."
