Cricket fans are hoping Kumar Sangakkara can sign off in style when he plays the last two Tests of his impressive international career in the series against India starting Wednesday (August 12) in Galle, Sri Lanka.

"I have had a great career. I have really enjoyed everything - even the wins, even the losses. The bad times, the good times - everything has been a great experience."

"Well to be remembered - I think everybody remembers you differently. And when you play you see yourself in one way and when you are retired you see yourself slightly better than you probably were. That is the way cricketers are I think."

"Yeah, well I think it has been a great rivalry and I think it has been a tussle between some great players. When you are facing a side which has a batting line-up with Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman - Saurav Ganguly - you know know you are in for a very tough time. Then you have Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan - who to me is one the most difficult bowlers I have ever faced. It's an exceptional feeling going in and playing against greats."

"I think when you look at Test series around the world, there is one iconic series in the Ashes. And I think maybe if we can develop a context and a meaningful rivalry and a meaningful trophy for maybe a Test series in that vein, for Asia as well I think that will be a grat step forward."

" I think it will be a very, very tough series, a very good series. And again, for us as well as India, it is about taking 20 opposition wickets and how we go about doing that. Whether it is about having big runs scored and scoreboard pressure on them. Or by having the skill and the situational intelligence to really deal with tough times. So we will have to wait and see how it goes. I just hope that it will be a very, very tough and competitive series."
