  • Team Sky's Sergio Luis Henao won stage six of the Tour of Poland on Friday (7th August) to take possesion of the overall leader's yellow jersey.

The sixth stage of the Tour of Poland.

Dutchman Bram Tankink was allowed to breakaway from the peloton early on, but he was eventually joined at the front by Pawel Poljanski and Alexey Lutsenko.

Tankink sat up, knowing his chance of a stage win was minimal.

With Team Sky setting the tempo at the front of the pursuit group, Poljanski was reeled in and Lutsenko was also caught.

Several attacks followed inside the final 25 kilometres before Mikel Nieve Iturralde managed to pull clear, with BMC Racing's Ben Hermans soon joining the Sky rider.

They were caught by the chasing pack with less than three kilometres to go, but as soon as their break ended Iturralde's team-mate Sergio Luis Henao went on the attack.

The Colombian took full advantage of the disorganised pursuit behind him, going on to claim the stage win in four hours, 38 minutes and 27 seconds.

Bart de Clercq finished down in tenth place, relinquishing the yellow jersey to Henao, who leads Italy's Diego Ulissi by less than a second heading into the closing stage.
