  • Spanish rider Jon Izagirre of the Movistar Team won the 2015 Tour of Poland on Saturday (8th August), after the concluding seventh stage in Krakow.

The Tour of Poland came to a conclusion on Saturday with a 16 mile individual time trial around the streets of Krakow.

With just 27 seconds covering the top ten in the general classification every second would count.

The home fans had Marcin Bialoblocki to cheer on. The national time trial champion clocked 28 minutes 45 seconds over the flat course, a pace that was too quick for all but one of his rivals.

Team Sky's Vasil Kiryienka was just three seconds slower, but the rest were a minute or more in arrears.

Spain's Jon Izagirre was sixth in the overnight standings, but with a result 30 minutes and 9 seconds, his overall race time of 26 hours, 4 minutes and 38 seconds stood.

Yellow jersey wearer Sergio Henao faded badly, his efforts in winning the penultimate stage over the mountains clearly taking its toll.

He ended up down in eighth overall as Izagirre was declared the winner.

And it was third time lucky for the 26 year-old Spaniard, after after he finished runner-up in the Tour of Poland in 2013 and 2014.
