World Anti-Doping Agency president Sir Craig Reedie comments on the suspicious doping tests scandal on the sidelines of the 128th IOC Session in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Sunday.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Sir Craig Reedie, WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) President on his reaction to recent allegations

"I have read the transcripts of the programme from ARD (German broadcaster), I have also read the article that appeared in the Sunday Times. We have issued a statement which says we are concerned at these allegations and we will refer them promptly to the independent commission, which is working its way through the original two programmes. I think it's fair to say however that from the WADA point of view, the anti-doping movement is based on a presumption of innocence. There are WADA rules which are there to protect athletes. And it is wrong just to make any kind of assumptions on allegations in the media on anything, any thought that you draw from these. Athletes must be presumed to be innocent until proven guilty. These are wild allegations, wide allegations and we have to check them out. And we have that done by the commission as quickly as possible. I'm very surprised that the numbers that seem to come from the leak from the IAAF. I'm equally sure that they will want to look very closely, see if they can determine the source."

"We made it an independent investigation so that WADA members and WADA administration went over it all the time. We've got three experts to deal with this. I was very happy with the speed which they were doing this. I was hoping to have a report maybe around September. My guess is, that to look into this, will take a little bit longer. But I rather they looked into it and got the answers and got it right."
