  • Intro:

Inbee Park shot a 7-under par 65 in the final round to win the Women's British Open by three shots on Sunday (2nd August), and become the seventh female player to capture four different majors.

    Script:

Going into the final day's play at the British Open at Turnberry, Suzann Pettersen trailed the lead by one shot at 7-under.

The Norwegian's pin point bunker shot a slice of bad fortune and she ended up shooting a level par to finish in fifth overall.

Lydia Ko had a fine final round, however her 3-under wasn't quite enough as the World No.2 finished at 8-under tied for third.

Jin Young Ko led going into the final day yet just as she was leading going down the 16th she put herself in a world of trouble.

She would take a double bogey six and that would allow Inbee Park a shot at the title.

The World No.1 who was playing ahead of Jin Young Ko fared far better at the 16th.

She put her approach to within birdie range and from there held onto a 12-under score to win by three shots from the youngster Young Ko who was playing at her first major.

The South Korean with a win from nowhere as she completes her career Grand Slam.
