    Script:

Jari-Matti Latvala was in record breaking form in the final day at his home rally in Finland.

The Volkswagen driver won the morning stage, and ended up 13.7 seconds ahead of nearest rival - his teammate Sebastien Ogier.

Citroen's Mads Ostberg was third overall, with Hyundai's Thierry Neuville fourth and Ott Tanak in fifth in his Ford Fiesta.

It was the second year in a row Finn Latvala won this rally - and he did it at breakneck pace.

He completed victory with an average speed of 125.44kph, beating the previous best set by the great Sebastien Loeb in 2012.

It's the third time he's taken the Rally Finland crown, and the 14th win of his career.

The final stage itself was won by Ogier - who can be content with his performance in the rally.

The overall result makes little difference to his march towards a third consecutive WRC title, as he extended his lead at the top of the championship to 89 points, ahead of Latvala.

He can win his third title at the German Rally later in August.
