Kiradech Aphibarnrat won the Paul Lawrie Match Play at the Murcar Links, Scotland on Sunday (2nd August).

    Script:

Thailand's Kiradech Aphibarnrat faced Robert Karlsson in the final of the inaugural Paul Lawrie Match play in Aberdeen.

The Scottish summer provided the full range of conditions, but it seemed the Thai had the win in the bag early on.

He was three up with four to play before Karlsson fought back.

The Swede won the 15th, 16th and 17th to draw level - meaning it came down to the 18th.

Karlsson seemed by that stage to have the momentum, but the 26 year old Thai produced a moment of magic to set up a birdie chance.

He kepty his cool and took it for a one shot victory, his second European Tour title of the yaer, and one which moves him up into the top 65 in the world.

David Howell secured third place - he beat Scotsman Marc Warren by one hole in the third placed play-off.
