    Script:

Semi-finals time at the Gstaad Open saw Dominic Thiem take on Feliciano Lopez in the Swiss ski resort.

The pair played out an entertaining opening set with long rallies - but it was Thiem who held the edge.

He secured the break early on, and Lopez was left frustrated by numerous unforced errors - racking up 19 in the first set. Thiem eventually took it 6-3.

The Austrian continued to show nice touches early in the second against world number 18 Lopez - the Spaniard being forced to cover a lot of the court.

But despite not being at his best Lopez's powerful serve kept him in the match against his agile opponent - the set went to a tie-break.

Lopez secured the early break before taking it 7-5 to level the match.

There was little to separate the pair in the deciding set, but the seventh game proved crucial.

Locked at 3-3 Lopez produced a moment of magic to seemingly take the momentum, but the young Austrian replied in style.

He hit two winners to secure the break, and Lopez couldn't recover.

He was broken again as the 21-year old wrapped up the win 6-3, 6-7, 6-3.
