  • Intro:

David Goffin moved into the final of the Gstaad Open on Saturday (1st August) with a straight sets win over Thomaz Bellucci.

    Script:

With Dominic Thiem having booked his place in the final, it was between David Goffin and Thomaz Bellucci to claim the other spot in the Gstaad Open.

Ranked 14th in the world Goffin started as favourite - and quickly lived up to that billing.

The Belgian producing some eyecatching winners in a first set he took 6-4.

Bellucci needed to fight back, but a string of unforced errors in the second set let him down.

Goffin, meanwhile, capitalised, and after an early break in the second he didn't look back.

Rarely troubled, he closed out a straightforward win against his Brazilian opponent in little over an hour.

6-4, 6-2 the final result, as Goffin set up his meeting with Thiem for the chance to become the Gstaad Open champion.

It won't be an easy task though - Austrian Thiem is at a career-high ranking of 24, and is bidding to win back-toback ATP World Tour titles
