There was a dramatic start to qualifying for the Grand Prix of Portugal in Porto.

Nadir Bin Hendi spectacularly crashed his Victory Team boat - flipping over after being caught out by a combination of wave and wind on the River Douro.

Luckily, Hendi was unhurt and is hoping to resume tomorrow to make his debut in F1H20.

It was Sami Selio who set the fastest lap in final qualifying.

The Finn - racing for the Mad-Croc Baba Team - clocked a time of 47.59 seconds.

Second quickest was the Frenchman Philippe Chiappe with Alex Carella of Italy the third fastest for round three of the F1H20 Championship.

The catamaran-shaped Formula1 powerboats can reach speeds between 230 km and 240 km - faster than even the most state-of-the-art Formula 1 cars. They are capable of going from standstill to 160 km per hour in only 4 seconds.
