Matchplay reaction from Warren, Aphibarnrat & Karlsson

  • Intro:

Reaction from Marc Warren, David Howell, Robert Karlsson and Kiradech Aphibarnrat following their quarter-final wins at the Paul Lawrie Match Play on Saturday (1st August).

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Marc Warren, Beat Tyrrell Hatton at 19th hole:

"Yeah, I mean it was.... to be fair it was one of the most bizarre matches I've ever been involved in. Started the day, two poor tee shots from both of us. Me first in the bunker, and then he hit it in the bunker right. Both chipped out and he holed it from about 100 yards for three. So that was the start to the day. He had two other chip-ins after that, obviously one at 18 to go to extra holes and then, I guess it was just my turn, at the 19th to hole it. Good tee shot and I holed it from 59 yards. So, yes, I don't know what to say. It was just really bizarre from start to finish."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Beat Michael Hoey 2&1 (in his semi-final with Marc Warren):

"It's going to be tough and, I don't know. Getting (to the) last four players is my goal now, so just try to enjoy and play with a local tomorrow: Marc Warren. It will be a tough match, but if I hit the ball the way same like first two round(s), it's going to be tough for him to beat me."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Robert Karlsson, Beat Richie Ramsay 1up:

"It was nice. I played reasonably well. Got a bit behind in the beginning, but I mean he played great in the beginning, so there wasn't much to do. I kept going and rolled in some good putts and even, even holes when he actually won them I tried to at least show him that I was competing for the hole and not giving him easy holes, so I'm very happy with that. So, at the end a couple of bonus ones went in, but that happens."
