SOUNDBITE: (English) Andrey Kryukov, vice-chairman, Almaty bid committee

(on his team's confidence after the presentation)

"Just our expectations and our perception of the event, today we are did very good homework and we're hundred percent confident for this event. And I believe we delivered all necessary to IOC members and to world sport movement concerning our concept."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Karim Massimov, Kazakhstan prime minister:

"Perhaps because we are unknown to most of you, some might consider us a risky choice for the Winter Games, but we all know that a decision doesn't come without an element of risk and in fact all bid cities have a level of risk. So how does one mitigate risk, one mitigates it with facts, not fabrication. The bottom line is that everything we told you today is true and importantly everything that you saw today is real. There was no fabrication about our compact venue plan, our travel time or our accommodation resources, there was no statement about public or political support or our ability to hold large-scale winter sports events."
