SOUNDBITE: (English) Jose Mourinho, Chelsea manager (on Everton central defender John Stones):

Q: "Can I ask you about your pursuit of John Stones?"

    "No."

Q: "Could you confirm a bid was turned down this week?

    "No."

Q: "Do you expect to go back in for him again?"

    "No."

Q: "That's over, is it, that transfer?"

"I don't speak about players from other clubs, and especially now that competition starts."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Jose Mourinho, Chelsea manager (asked if signing Petr Cech from Chelsea will make Arsenal a stronger team this season):

"I don't agree with you. I think they always had, very good goalkeepers. So now they have, one more but, I never felt weaknesses in their 'keepers.'

SOUNDBITE: (English) Jose Mourinho, Chelsea manager (on the importance of the Community Shield):

"I think it's in between. It's not a friendly like.... against Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain or.... Arsenal against, Wolfsburg. It's more than that, but is less than a Premier League match. So, it's there in the limit. But we lost against (New York) Red Bull(s) and we were not happy. So it's normal that, we always try to play for a result, and Community Shield has, a motivation different than just a friendly or just a Summer tournament. So, I would say it's the start of the competition.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Jose Mourinho, Chelsea manager (on the English Premier League refusing to move fixtures to aid teams participating in European competition):

"My reaction is that, until we have four teams in the Champions League, we will not make a big noise of it. But one day when England has only three teams in the Champions League, people wake up."
