SOUNDBITE: (English) Paul Lawrie, tournament host:

"So we wanted to to be a bit different, it's right in the middle of the schedule too so it's a little bit of a break from the normal strokeplay, four-round tournaments. All the boys are raving about the course, obviously it's in great condition. It lends itself perfectly for matchplay, there's a lot of holes out there that some guys are going to hit driver off and some guys are going to hit five or six irons off the tee. So you want a course like that, which is why we chose it."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Marc Warren:

"You know, it's not going to be the standard long golf course that we generally play, it's going to be a little bit shorter, quirky. So you'll see guys maybe going for a few of the greens off the tee, or the par fives, stuff like that.So I think you'll see hopefully, a lot of birdies and eagles this week. The thing about matchplay or any format of golf is that you want to win your match, you don't want it given to you.You want to go out and make as many birdies as you can and put as much pressure on your opponent as possible."

"Well we don't really get the chance to play matchplay that often any more so it's great to have this opportunity again. Paul Lawrie has put up this event, it's just his image you know, a little Scottish little links golf course. He likes matchplay as well and we all grew up playing matchplay so it's good to go back to the simplest form of playing golf. I'm sure I'm not the only one that wished we played a bit more matchplay but it's good to have another crack at it."
