The Meijer LPGA Classic continued on Saturday at the Blythefield Country Club in Michigan.

Lexi Thompson, Alison Lee and Lizette Salas were tied for the lead at nine under par at the start of the day, however that would all change.

Salas took the outright lead at 13 under par with her fourth birdie of the day, coming on the par four ninth hole.

The 26 year-old American then added three more birdies on the back nine at 14, 15 and 16.

She hit a shot inside two feet at the par-three 14th for birdie. Salas carded for a seven under par round of 64 that put her in firmly in first at 16 under par.

Lee fell off the pace with a 70 but Thompson remained in striking range with a 68. She made four birdies and a bogey to move into a tie for second place at 12 under par with a round to go.

Thompson came in level with Kris Tamulis. Tamulis, who missed the cut at two of her last three tournaments, sank four birdies on her back nine to card a 67.

Six golfers ended the day tied for fourth at 10 under par.

So Yeon Ryu was one of them, thanks to a bogey-free round.

Nevertheless, Salas will be the one to catch on Sunday as she hold a four shot lead.
