SOUNDBITE: (English) Simona Halep, world number three:

    (on her season so far).

"It's been a tough period for me because I lost few matches and I lost two grand slams already so... But I have positive things, that I had a good start of the year, I won my biggest title this year in Indian Wells, so it means a lot for me and I know that I have a good tennis but the confidence is a bit less now, but still I'm working hard everyday and I just want to improve more in my game, improve more and to build my confidence and to go back on court and to win matches."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Simona Halep, world number three:

(on having changed her style of play).

"I think my game is changed a little bit into the hard court, I play better on hard court and you know, I was working with my serve pretty much and you cannot see the result immediately but I feel that I'm better on my serve, you know I serve stronger now. Everything is the same and I just want to keep things the same and just going forward with my mind and just to believe that I can come back in my good form which I had in USA earlier in March-April."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Simona Halep, world number three:

(on aiming to qualify for the WTA Finals in Singapore).

"Yeah, I need a few more points to be qualified in this tournament (WTA finals in Singapore), I really want, it's my goal at the beginning of the year I said that I want to be back in Singapore because I had you know, my best tennis here, one of the best results in my career and I won against Serena, so it was amazing in that day, I just want to be focused for what I have to do on court and to put what I am doing into practice to put into the match, and just to be relaxed, to play my best tennis, and then to, the goal is to be here (in Singapore) again and to win matches. But we'll see if it's gonna happen."
