Great Britain take a 2-1 lead in their Davis Cup quarter-final against France following a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(6), 6-1 victory for Andy and Jamie Murray over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Nicolas Mahut at Queen's in London on Saturday.

World number three Andy Murray teamed up with his older brother Jamie for the doubles rubber in Great Britain's Davis Cup quarter-final against France at Queen's in London on Saturday.

The formidable pairing of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Nicolas Mahut stood on the other side of the net and the French duo made their intentions plain by breaking Andy Murray's serve in the opening game of the match.

It was enough to see France take the opening set 6-4 after 38 minutes, but that was about as good as it got for the 2014 runners-up.

The Murray brothers broke the Tsonga serve in the fourth game of the second set and Jamie Murray closed it out 6-3 to level the match.

The third set went with serve and into a tiebreak, but not before a bizarre point in the eleventh game which saw Andy Murray slip and tweak his groin -Jamie had to play the rest of the point on his own and ended up on the grass as well.

Andy stayed down and received treatment as the match was held up for six minutes, but the Wimbledon semi-finallist recovered and played the return at set point in the breaker which put GB ahead for the first time in the match.

The Murrays broke Tsonga again in the second game of the fourth set as they raced to a 5-0 lead - Tsonga then held to force Jamie Murray to serve out the match and he duly obliged, an emphatic smash closing out a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(6), 6-1 victory in two hours and 49 minutes.

After Friday's singles were shared, GB will take a 2-1 lead into Sunday's reverse singles, needing just one point to make it to the semi-finals for the first time since 1981.
