Ruben Bemelmans and Kimmer Coppejans (Bel) def. Daniel Nestor and Adil as Belgium progress to face Argentina in the last four of the Davis Cup.

    Script:

Belgium are into the Davis Cup semi-finals for the first time since 1999 following Ruben Bemelmans and Kimmer Coppejan's defeat Canada's Daniel

Nestor and Adil Shamasdin, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in Ostend to give them an unassailable 3-0 lead.

On Friday, Steve Darcis beat Frank Dancevic and David Goffin overcame Filip Peliwo to give the Belgians a commanding 2-0 lead going into Saturday's doubles

Canada were without Milos Raonic and Vasek Pospisil due to injury and they were sorely missed.

The Canadians did have veteran Davis Cup player Daniel Nestor, the 43-year-old doubles specialist, playing in his 49th tie.

Nestor and the inexperienced Shamasdin managed to level their match by taking the second set.

The third set saw Shamasdin broken, but Bemelmans failed to serve out the set at 5-3.

But Belgium did not have to wait long as they broke Nestor, to clinch it 6-4.

Nestor was broken in the fourth game of the fourth set to give Belgium a 3-1 lead and Canada could not strike back.

Belgium won the fourth set 6-3 to wrap up the match in two and a half hours.

Belgium will now face either Argentina or Serbia in the last four.
