Intro:
The Argentine pairing of Carlos Berlocq and Leonardo Mayer thumped Serbians Viktor Troicki and Nenad Zimonjic 6-2, 6-4, 6-1 for an unassailable 3-0 lead in the Davis Cup quarter-finals in Argentina on Saturday (18th July).
Script:
Leading 2-0 after the opening singles, the Argentine pair of Carlos Berlocq and Leonardo Mayer knew that a win over Serbians Viktor Troicki and Nenad
Zimonjic would see the South American's through to the semi-finals of the Davis Cup.
A close match was predicted, but instead it was one-way traffic.
Berlocq and Mayer were simply a class apart.
They secured an early break before easing away with some sublime returns of serve to take the first set 6-2.
There was another early break in the second as the hosts took control, before closing it out 6-4.
The Serbian pair's confidence was shattered - the final set over in just seven games as Berlocq and Mayer dominated.
The Argentines did not concede a single break point as they reached the semi-finals.
They now travel to Europe to take on Belgium in September.
Belgium beat Canada 3-0.
