    The Argentine pairing of Carlos Berlocq and Leonardo Mayer thumped Serbians Viktor Troicki and Nenad Zimonjic 6-2, 6-4, 6-1 for an unassailable 3-0 lead in the Davis Cup quarter-finals in Argentina on Saturday (18th July).

    Leading 2-0 after the opening singles, the Argentine pair of Carlos Berlocq and Leonardo Mayer knew that a win over Serbians Viktor Troicki and Nenad

    Zimonjic would see the South American's through to the semi-finals of the Davis Cup.

    A close match was predicted, but instead it was one-way traffic.

    Berlocq and Mayer were simply a class apart.

    They secured an early break before easing away with some sublime returns of serve to take the first set 6-2.

    There was another early break in the second as the hosts took control, before closing it out 6-4.

    The Serbian pair's confidence was shattered - the final set over in just seven games as Berlocq and Mayer dominated.

    The Argentines did not concede a single break point as they reached the semi-finals.

    They now travel to Europe to take on Belgium in September.

    Belgium beat Canada 3-0.
