"It was a good toss to win. We've made the most of the first day which was pretty important for us. We didn't play as well as we would of liked in Cardiff and we copped a lot for that and rightfully so. It was pretty important for us to start this test match pretty well and we've been able to do that. Hopefully tomorrow morning we can capitalise and make it a really good first innings for us."

"It's a good wicket, quite slow, not much pace there, very little seem movement. It's the sort of wicket where you've got to bowl consistently and accurately and we didn't do it for long enough periods today and when you don't do that against world class opposition you get punished which we did."

"It's one day. We know if we win the next four days then we'll win the test match. It's just one day. We've obviously got our backs against the wall and have to come back tomorrow and perform well. We've got a new ball, we've got to try and front up in the morning and make some wickets and make some inroads. If we can do that we can try and fight our way back into the game."
