Disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong backs his return to the Tour de France roads -- along with ex-England central midfielder and fellow cancer survivor Geoff Thomas as well as a team of amateurs -- for the One Day Ahead stage ride, which aims to raise money for charity Cure Leukaemia.

There is obviously a lot of drama in the race like crashes, wind and things that separate a lot of people. But Chris Froome has been smart and he's avoided all the problems. QUESTION: Is he impressive? ANSWER: Well of course. He is leading the tour by three minutes and that is impressive. But I am a Van Garderen fan."
