"I'm glad to be here. This is a place that I have enjoyed riding my bike for a long time. Geoff (Thomas) has asked me to come and I think he's doing a great thing. And I think it's a great cause. I'm excited."

"For the first time in a couple of years I watched the race. It's been an interesting first week. There is obviously a lot of drama in the race like crashes, wind and things that separate a lot of people. But Chris Froome has been smart and he's avoided all the problems. QUESTION: Is he impressive? ANSWER: Well of course. He is leading the tour by three minutes and that is impressive. But I am a Van Garderen fan."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Lance Armstrong, former Tour de France champion:
"My fight with cancer was not a made up thing. Starting Livestrong and building something over fifteen years was not a made up thing. It was a real thing. And it's still a real important thing to me whether it is through Jeff Shepherd or Livestrong or other things, those are things, regardless of what people think, do."
