SOUNDBITE: (English) Trevor Bayliss, England coach (Q: Do you think you've made an impact as coach?)

"I think they've been heading in the right direction, especially in the last series over New Zealand and I think I was very lucky to come in at this time. I think the boys are interested in playing good attacking cricket and playing their own natural games and I think the job that Alastair (Cook) did in this game was fantastic, I thought his captaincy was top notch. It always helps when the players that are playing underneath him are playing well and enjoying their cricket and they're certainly doing that.

"Look to be honest I didn't speak to Cooky too much at all about specific fielding positions, other than allow them to go over the top early and hopefully make a mistake, but when they do have an outfield, have the guys protecting the boundary, so that they might not go for the big hit, but also still allow yourself those fielders that are able to take a catch and send the message that we're here to take wickets.

"Well it's certainly it's a lot better to be 1-0 up than 1-0 down, but the boys are very much aware that when you beat Australia the next match is going to be even tougher. They will come back hard, we know that, there is still a long way to go in this series and to win this series we'll have to play some very good cricket between now and the end."
