Markus Pommer won his maiden F3 European Championship race on Sunday in Zandvoort, the Netherlands.

It's been some weekend for Markus Pommer who followed up his first podium finish on Saturday, with a win in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship race on Sunday.

Pommer overtook Antonio Giovinazzi at the first corner, which he held the lead until the finish.

The safety car was called upon twice following Mikkel Jensen's crash that saw him drive into a wall and shortly afterwards following a collision between Gustavo Menezes and Nicolas Pohler.

Giovinazzi had to settle for second with Felix Rosenqvist taking third.

It was the same three on the podium in the first race of the weekend.

But this time, Giovinazzi stole a march on his rivals by taking the chequered flag, leaving Rosenqvist in second and Pommer, with his first podium finish in third.

Saturday's final race saw Rosenqvist finish ahead of Giovinazzi - with Jake Dennis clinching third.

As disappointing weekend for Charles Leclerc means Giovinazzi leads the drivers championship with 288 points.
