SOUNDBITE (English) Chris Froome, Team Sky (asked if you can avoid injury in the race):

"I mean that's one of those things where, where I crashed last year, that was just bad luck. I mean something in front of me basically touched wheels and it was just one of those moments where you couldn't really do anything about it, so hopefully that doesn't happen again. Everyone has their crashes. This year I've got the confidence of knowing I've got such an amazing team of guys around me, and hopefully they can keep me safe in that first week."

    SOUNDBITE (English) Chris Froome, Sky:

"It's such a short time trial on Saturday, but yes, it's still, at the end of the day it's a time trial, it's a test of where everyone's at and, let's see what the results say. But the legs feel good and I'd like to give it a go (try to win it)."

Q: "What about the restrictions on those sleeping in motor homes this year. Is that taking away the marginal gains from Sky?"

"No. I mean it's.... if you look at what we're trying to achieve and in the interests of, if the riders, I wouldn't say just Team Sky, that it would be open to everyone. But yes, the UCI have made their decision there and obviously we're happy with that."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Vincenzo Nibali, Defending champion:

"The (challenge) is.... is bigger. I have (Chris) Froome, (Alberto) Contador and (Nairo) Quintana, (Romain) Bardet. The Tour de France is very, very incredible."
