Belinda Bencic claimed her first WTA Tour title by beating Agnieszka Radwanska in the Eastbourne International final at Devonshire Park on the English south coast on Saturday.

The 18-year-old Swiss, who is mentored by five-time Grand Slam champion Martina Hingis, whitewashed the ninth seed in the final set to record a 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 victory.

Bencic, who finished with 41 winners and 22 unforced errors, won the opening set in just under an hour.

Radwanska, who is a former world number two and was runner-up at Wimbledon in 2012, denied the teenager a straight sets victory by taking the second to level after Bencic came back from an early break.

In the third, the Swiss quickly recovered her poise to run away to the win in just over two hours.
Radwanska committed nearly 50 unforced errors.

Bencic in the process denied the Pole a second title at Eastbourne, after the 26-year-old won in 2008.

She goes into Wimbledon, which begins on Monday, having reached two grass-court finals this month.

Bencic won the girls' singles title at Wimbledon in 2013.
