Sultanate of Oman won the Round the Island Race on Saturday (27 June).
Script:The 50 mile anti-clockwise lap of the Isle of Wight took place on Saturday (27 June) a day after the conclusion of the Cowes Cup on Friday (26 June).
Winners ARMIN STROM Sailing Team did not take part in the race that saw 1584 entries.
The conditions were ideal for the fleet with 12-15 knot winds.
The lead regularly exchanged hands between Sultanate of Oman, Alinghi and ENGIE.
However it was the Arabs that eventually won with Alinghi less than a minute adrift with ENGIE settling in third place.
Next up on the tour is the Kiel Cup which will run for four days from the 30th July.
