Sam Querrey would have to come from behind against Alexandr Dolgopolov for a place in the Nottingham Open final. The Ukrainian went on to win the first set 6-4 and got an early break in the next before Querrey quickly cancelled it out and then went on to win it 6-3.

Now the momentum was with the American and so was some fortune, this helped him to a decisive break in the 11th game of the decider and he served out to win 7-5.

In the final he will face Denis Istomin, who should be fresh, he had just been broken in the third game of his match against Marcos Baghdatis, before the Cypriot pulled out with a calf injury. He is now in a race against time to be fit for Wimbledon.
