Jordan Spieth met with the media on Tuesday in Texas after winning the U.S. Open on Sunday to become the sixth man to win the Masters and U.S. Open in the same year.

"Oh, it was crazy. it was nothing like the Masters. It was nothing like any tournament that I've experienced. I played 16 so well to get a birdie and to take that three-shot lead, knowing that Dustin (Johnson) still can birdie the last three holes. So, I wasn't trying to let up. I didn't take my foot off the pedal. My mind didn't wonder. I just played a very poor hole on 17. And three putts later, I just needed to somehow rebound and find something on 18 to get the job done. And I hit maybe the two most clutch shots I've ever hit in my life, just to get on the green in two there. The hardest part then was watching and not being able to control the outcome, watching Dustin (Johnson) birdie 17 and then hit two shots on 18 to 12 feet. Then my mind's just saying, give me a chance, give me a chance to go to an 18-hole playoff tomorrow. And it slid by the hole and then when the next one missed, I was just shocked."

"Well he came up right before going to scoring and Dustin (Johnson) was all class. He took his hat off and said, congratulations. I didn't know really what to say. I said, I'm sorry man and I appreciate it. And that was about it. I played a lot of rounds with Dustin (Johnson) and we're friends and it was tough to watch it end that way, because we both would have like to put on a show maybe on Monday and have somebody win it. But all in all, that's just how it works sometimes and it's happened before like that. I was just fortunate to be on this end of it."
