Chelsea captain John Terry has been named an ambassador of football culture by the Guangzhou Football Association in China.

Terry spoke at a meet and greet session with fans who would certainly want players like him playing in and not just visiting China, Terry thinks the chances of top quality players coming here to wear a Guangzhou Evergrande shirt will have improved after they signed one of his former coaches.

SOUNDBITE: (English) John Terry, Chelsea captain (on Guangzhou Evergrande new manager Luiz Felipe Scolari and Chinese football)

"Yeah with Scolari, Yes. Well having played under him, he is firstly a great manager, and a very nice person as well. So I had the pleasure to work with him and I am not surprised that people from Europe and managers and players will eventually be coming more and more to China. It is up and coming with the football and the development, and when it is going to attract the ones like Scolari, obviously he can then attract better players and players will arrive for sure. We are looking at Chinese football and it is going up and up, year after year, which is the main thing."
So a positive message from Terry, maybe one day even he will sign a contract here.
