SOUNDBITE: (English) Scott Evans, Ireland:

"Yeah I have been dying to get started. I have been looking forward to this event for quite some time and also playing in the evening time I have had the whole day to prepare and get ready and yeah I have been very excited to get on court and get going and I feel very good.

"I think my level is a bit above his. I have known him for many years so it is nice to play against a friend of mine and I think we had a good match.

"Tomorrow is going to be against Yuhan Tann from Belgium. He is a very good player. I played him in February in the Europeans (Championships) in Belgium and I win in two sets. Tomorrow it is a different game and I will be ready. I feel good and I have my tactic ready for tomorrow."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Chloe Magee, Ireland: (on losing her first singles match)

"Yeah it is obviously a very tough day for me. I lost my singles this morning and didn't really want to lose. I have to just take the positives and the negatives and move on and luckily for me it is group stages and not knockout. It is really really nice to win the mixed tonight. I really wanted to win and get out there and perform good and I didn't feel I performed that well today but the day is over today now and onto tomorrow

"Yeah we changed our tactics a little bit and we improved our quality. We were a bit 'snatchy' on the shuttle and were taking too many chances too early and we just had to get ourselves settled with the mindset and we got going again. It is good we could turn it around and it is good for the coming matches that we could turn it around so well."
