  • Intro:

Ireland boxer Katie Taylor spoke after claiming a unanimous victory over Bulgaria's Denitsa Eliseeva to move into the last eight of the inaugural European Games on Sunday (21 June).

    Script:

"Yeah, I think that was the tactics really - just to start fast and get a good start in the first round. I knew I was going to have to dig deep at some stage of the fight. She is great warrior and I am just delighted to be through now to the quarter-finals and a chance now to get a medal, thank god."

"I think it is the same for every competition. I think that the pressure does motivate me in every competition, so it is no different here really. I am just here to focus on my performance and perform my best. That is all I can do really."

"Yeah it is great. The atmosphere is fantastic in there and it is a privilege to be here to be representing my country at such a big competition again and with such a strong team over here as well. A very young team as well, but the lads and the two girls have performed outstanding this week and I am proud to be a part of the team with them."

"Yeah, absolutely yeah, I think I am more hungry now than I ever was really. I want to leave a great legacy behind me and I want to continue to win major championships and it is such a privilege to be representing my country again, as I said, in such a big competition."
