  • Intro:

Thousands of fans spilled into the streets of Chicago to celebrate the Blackhawks first Stanley Cup win on home ice since 1938.

    Script:

1938 is a long time ago. America had yet to enter the second world war the last time Chicago had won the Stanley Cup at home. That's why so many Blackhawks fans took the streets on Monday night to celebrate winning sports largest trophy.

They did the same in 2013 when they won at Boston, then there were 23 arrests but with police prepared the celebrations two years later were less damaging.

There were at least two arrests but this is a scene Chicago will be happy to share with the World.

The Blackhawks beat Tampa Bay Lightening 2-0 in the sixth game of the series giving them an unassailable 4-2 lead. They are now level with Boston with six Stanley Cup titles.
