SOUNDBITE (English) Martin Kaymer, 2014 U.S. Open Champion, on the setup of Chambers Bay and defending his title:

"I think we're going to play three British Opens in a row this year; this one, the real British Open, and then Whistling Straits. For us Europeans, I think it's a great golf course, stunning views. You need to be very creative, especially on the back nine with some funky greens. Overall, I think it's going to be a great week if the weather stays like this. I enjoyed playing 18 holes today so I really do look forward to a good defend."

SOUNDBITE (English) Jordan Spieth, 2015 Master's Champion, on the difficulty of playing in a U.S. Open:

"The U.S. Open is about as challenging mentally as any tournament in the world. So you have to go in positively. You have to go in with enough confidence to get yourself into contention. But understanding that what you see at the beginning, it's nice to kind of get a feel for how it's going to play and the greens. But you don't know. And we still aren't going to know. Today it's going to play very different from Thursday. We don't know where the pins are going to be specifically. So we don't know exactly what shots to play on certain holes. So it's just about kind of getting into a good rhythm here, saving your legs and having enough confidence in all parts of your game."

SOUNDBITE (English) Henrik Stenson, on the challenges of playing Chambers Bay:

"Yeah, it's definitely got The (British) Open feel to it with the brown fairways and firm bounces out there. It's definitely a different course. No two ways about that. It's much more extreme than the normal links courses and it's going to demand a lot of patience out there. I think there's no difference in any other major championship. The guy who can keep his head on and stay very levelheaded throughout the week and keep that patience is always going to do well. You certainly need that out here this week."
