Intro:
Chambers Bay will host the 115th US Open. The tournament starts on Thursday with much excitement about the links course which is situated on the North-West coast of the United States of America.
Script:The unique setting for the 115th US Open has the golfing world talking ahead of Thursday's first round.
For one, Chambers Bay, on the North-West coast of America, is the first time the competition will be played in this part of the States.
The course is located 30 miles south of Seattle and was only opened in 2007.
Another first for the US Open is adjustable pars - the 1st and 18th holes interchange between a par 4 and par 5 - that's depending upon weather conditions.
Chambers Bay also features the three longest par fours in US Open history with the 546-yard 14th, the 537-yard 11th and the 13th at 534 yards.
The venue is home to deepest bunker in US Open history, with the 10ft deep ‘Chambers Basement’ situated just over 100 yards short of the 18th green.
Chambers Bay hosted the 2010 US Amateur championship
During the two days of strokeplay at the 2010 US Amateur, the scoring average was 79.25 - Jordan Spieth shot 72-83.
Speith may have a gem on his bag in caddie Michael Greller. The Texan worked as a part-time caddie shortly after the courses' opening.
A win for Speith would be the first Masters/US Open double since Tiger Woods in 2002.
