    In Saturday's (June 13) late action from the first European Games, Lucie Ignace of France secured yet another major karate crown.

    And it proved to be a great day for Lucie Ignace, already a world champion in the 55-kilo class, she added a first European Games title in kumite's 61-kilo category.

    However, it was hard going for the 22-year-old Frenchwoman who was pushed all the way by Merve Coban of Turkey.

    Meanwhile, in the men's Greco-Roman wrestling, Stepan Maryanyan of Russia defeated Soslan Daurov in the 59-kilo final.

    Elman Mukhtarov provided some joy for the host nation of Azerbaijan as he clinched the final spot on he podium.

    Stepping up to the heaviest weight division and Islam Magomedov - another Russian - defeated Dimitriy Timchenko of Ukraine in the 98-kilo final.

    While Melonin Noumonvi of France took the bronze.
