"Regarding the consideration of additional sports, we have finished accepting applications and will start the selection process from now on."

"Based on these criteria, we will take a close look at the 26 sports and see if they will meet our standard. This will be one of our approaches in the selection process."

"To be honest, when I look at the list of the sports that have applied for consideration, I am embarrassed to say I don't recognise some of them. So we will have to conduct hearings and select the sports that the youth can really enjoy playing and will become symbolic for young athletes during the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games."
