SOUNDBITE (English) Thomas Bach, IOC President:

"We have seen two bids which respect very much the sustainability of the Olympic Games, which look very much for the legacy of the Olympic Games and which respect very much the organisation of Olympic Games has to be affordable. On this common background, both cities showed us a plan how Olympic Winter Games would feed best into their long term development planning with regard to their society, with regard to their environment, with regard to their sports development, with regard also to their social and financial development."

SOUNDBITE (English) Thomas Bach, IOC President:

"We had another innovation this afternoon in the discussion between the IOC Evaluation Commission and the International Federations and the IOC Members. And I think this innovation was a great success, we had excellent discussions with more than two dozens of questions and then exchange of opinions. So I'm really happy to see that with these innovation we are on the right track in improving candidature procedure which is already very transparent, very open and now has a new dimension of dialogue with the candidate cities and also among the IOC Members and the decision makers in the international federations."
