American Pharoah's preparations have been 'smooth' before Saturday's 147th Belmont Stakes horse race, says trainer Bob Baffert. The colt is looking to become the first Triple Crown winner in nearly four decades

"The way he feels, the way he's training, right now I don't have any - I mean everything is going very smooth. It's very - I like what I see. So we just keep him at this level and happy. Because when he's happy, when he runs his big races, he loves, he enjoys what he does. That's why when he runs, when he has his ears up, he's having fun when he's running."

"I'm just like you guys. I just want to see if it can happen (the Triple Crown). We know we're against it. Like Pat Riley says, when there are championship games like this, there's winning and misery, and that's what we're looking at right now."

"Well it's been long time, but it's different. I'm older now so I'm really enjoying it. I'm soaking it in. I'm taking it in. So it's exciting to have a horse. And to have him and the way he ran the Preakness, he was so dominating in that race. And when he's really right he likes to dominate. He's that kind of horse so hopefully he can bring it one more time."
