Pretty in pink once again - Alberto Contador has won a second Giro d'Italia, to go fourth on the all-time grand tour list.

It was a processional final stage for The Tinkoff-Saxo rider and his team - Contador had all but sealed the win on Saturday's penultimate stage despite having his lead cut in half.

And he secured the win in what will be his final Giro, finishing safely in the peloton. He beat Astana rider Fabio Aru by one minute and 53 seconds

To the race win and the The 178-km finale was expected to end in a bunch sprint, but a late break by Iljo Keisse and Luke Durbridge meant that it never materialised.

They made the break with seven laps of the five-kilometre circuit around Milan left to race.

It was cat and mouse, and the peloton almost reeled them in but the two held out, and with 200 metres to go, Keisse finally out-sprinted his rival to take the stage victory.

But the day belonged to Contador who became only the second rider to have won the three grand tours at least twice.

The celebrations wont last too long though. His next step, is trying to become the first man since 1998 to win the Giro and the Tour de France in the same year.
