David Ferrer, Petra Kvitova and Caroline Wozniacki discuss their first round victories at the French Open on Tuesday (26 May).

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English) David Ferrer, defeated Lukas Lacko 6-1, 6-3, 6-1:

    (Q. You're 33 years old, the same as Federer. How are you feeling?)

"Now I am in a good moment. It might be four months, it's okay. I began the season playing really well, winning a lot of matches, and I am only focusing the (present) moment. I don't know when I will finish my career. The most important (thing) is my fitness. I don't have important injuries (and I'm) looking forward."

SOUNDBITE (English) Petra Kvitova, defeated Marina Erakovic 6-4, 3-6, 6-4:

    (Q. Probably a sigh of relief after that win, did you find the conditions difficult to play today?)

"For me it was really difficult, you know, to go for the shots. It was tough to make any winners or, you know, ace from the serve or something like that. It was very difficult today. It was quite a long match, big fight. Sometimes I couldn't win my serve. So it was a little bit difficult. But that's how it is in the first round of Grand Slams. I'm just glad I'm still in and still playing."

SOUNDBITE (English) Caroline Wozniacki, defeated Karin Knapp 6-3, 6-0:

    (Q. The first set lasted a long time, don't you think?)

"That was crazy. I think four games in or five games in we played like 40-something minutes. It's ridiculous. But it was really close in the beginning, a lot of deuces and advantages. She obviously is playing really well, she won last week. So for me it was a tough first round, but nothing unusual from my other draws this year. So I was ready for it and just kind of, you know, excited...I knew the longer we played the better for me, so I didn't mind at all."
